Japan successfully launched its H3 rocket carrying the Michibiki No. 7 navigation satellite. The launch, identified as H3 Flight No. 9, took place at 4:23:31 a.m. Japan time from the Tanegashima Space Center. The Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency, or JAXA, verified that the satellite separated approximately 29 minutes and four seconds post-launch. Officials confirmed that the rocket adhered to its planned trajectory, placing QZS-7 into its designated orbit.

EU AI Act rules bring new labels and disclosures for synthetic content across Europe. As of early August, providers whose systems engage directly with users must inform them when they are interacting with AI. If the artificial origin of the interaction is obvious to a reasonably informed individual, such notice is not necessary. For systems that generate synthetic text, audio, images, or video, providers are also required to include machine-readable indicators. These markers should enable detection of AI-manipulated or generated content whenever technically feasible. Standard editing tools remain outside this requirement if they do not significantly alter input or its meaning.
