DUBAI, November 19, 2025: Emirates announced the purchase of eight additional Airbus A350-900 aircraft valued at US$3.4 billion at list prices during the Dubai Airshow 2025, strengthening its order book and expanding its fleet of new-generation wide-body jets. The additional aircraft, powered by Rolls-Royce Trent XWB-84 engines, will bring Emirates’ total A350-900 orders to 73 once all deliveries are completed. The Dubai-based airline said the newly ordered A350-900s are scheduled for delivery in 2031. Emirates has already received 13 of the aircraft type, which entered service with the carrier in late 2024. The A350-900 model is used on medium- and long-haul routes and is known for its composite structure, lower fuel consumption, and improved operational efficiency.
Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman and Chief Executive of Emirates Airline and Group, said the latest order reinforces the airline’s fleet expansion program. “The Emirates A350’s entry into service last November has given us welcome additional capacity and enabled us to introduce Emirates’ latest inflight products to more customers, including our Premium Economy seats,” he said. “We look forward to working closely with Airbus on the delivery of our remaining aircraft, including the new units that we have ordered today.” He added that Emirates’ combined orders now total 375 wide-body aircraft, including a recent agreement for Boeing 777-9 jets announced earlier this week. The new commitments are part of the airline’s ongoing efforts to expand its long-haul network and enhance its global operations through the acquisition of fuel-efficient, next-generation aircraft.

Rolls-Royce strengthens partnership with Emirates on engines
Its Trent XWB-84 engines, built by Rolls-Royce, are among the most efficient large aero-engines in service, supporting lower fuel burn and extended operational life. The aircraft’s design also aligns with global aviation sustainability goals by reducing overall emissions compared to older aircraft types.
