Dubai, 3 November 2025: Emirates will add six weekly frequencies on its Dubai–Cairo route from 1 December 2025, the carrier announced today. The new services will bring the total flights to five per day from 1 February 2026, complementing the airline’s existing four daily flights between Dubai and Cairo. The additional flights will be operated using the Boeing 777 aircraft and have been scheduled to support connections from Egypt through Dubai to key destinations in Asia, including Hong Kong, Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand. Cairo currently hosts the highest deployment of Emirates’ A380 aircraft in the Middle East and North Africa outside the United Arab Emirates. Once the fifth daily service is operational, Cairo is set to become the airline’s most-served city in its African network.

Emirates’ Deputy President and Chief Commercial Officer Adnan Kazim said the additional service will make it easier for customers to connect across the network and noted the importance of the Cairo gateway for both passengers and cargo. The carrier said the extra frequency will increase weekly cargo capacity via the belly-hold of the Boeing 777 to approximately 300 tonnes on the Dubai-Cairo route. Emirates began operations to Cairo in 1986 and has since transported over 10 million passengers to and from Egypt, the company said. The move underscores the carrier’s long-standing involvement in Egypt’s aviation, tourism and trade sectors.
Cairo emerges as Emirates’ top African destination
Travel industry commentators describe the timing as coinciding with the upcoming winter travel peak. The extra flights will be positioned to capture higher passenger volumes and strengthen onward connectivity. The announcement comes as Emirates continues to expand and refine its global route network. The company stated the new winter-season schedule will run from 1 December to 31 January before scaling to the full daily service starting 1 February. Commercial aviation data show that the Dubai-Cairo corridor is among the busiest for the airline in North Africa. The additional frequency will further increase seat capacity as well as cargo throughput on the route.
Emirates confirmed that from 1 February the revised schedule will be: flight EK929 departing Dubai at 04:00 and arriving in Cairo at 06:15 daily, and EK930 departing Cairo at 08:00 arriving in Dubai at 13:15 daily, replacing the prior schedule which featured the new service six-times weekly at different times. This operational update follows an earlier announcement by Emirates in February 2023 when it expanded its Cairo operations to 28 weekly flights. With the five-daily service in place from February 2026, Emirates is reinforcing the role of Cairo as a major hub in its network and increasing its capacity for cargo and passenger traffic on the Dubai-Cairo link. – By Content Syndication Services.
